AED.us and Cardiac Science recommend that customers use only an authentic battery in their AED. Using a refurbished or third-party battery will void your warranty. See the Notice from Cardiac Science regarding third-party electrodes and batteries for more information.

The Cardiac Science G3 battery is designed to last four years once it's installed and will automatically check and alert you when the capacity is low, but it's still important to have a replacement available when that time comes or following use during a cardiac emergency. Follow these simple steps to replace the battery:

  1. Note the clip on one end of the bottom of your AED.
  2. Press this clip inward to release the battery pack.
  3. Insert the new battery, beginning with the end opposite the clip.
  4. The battery should click into place and your AED will beep to confirm it is installed.

The Cardiac Science Powerheart AED G3 Battery displays its manufacturing date signifying when the battery was made. While this isn't an expiration date, it offers insight into the battery's age. A building symbol on AED accessories usually indicates this production date. This battery is good for 4 years from the date it is installed into the AED.
