Rescue Ready® AED Self Tests: Once you receive your PowerHeart® AED G3 Plus, you should identify if you have not already, a person that is in charge of tracking the AED for its rescue-readiness. Our ReadiSave program can assist you in setting up a reminder program for your organization. The Powerheart® AED G3 Plus patented features include the Rescue Ready® technology. Knowing that your AED(s) are technically rescue ready gives you peace of mind and confidence in your organization’s ability to respond to the unexpected Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) event. The G3 Plus performs daily self-tests on all the major device components. In addition, it performs weekly and monthly charges on the electronics system.
RHYTHMx® Analysis Software begins once the AED is opened and it quickly determines whether the victim has a shockable cardiac rhythm by filtering ECG signals. If it is determined that a shock is required, the following suite of technology is activated and the life-saving AED does what it was designed to do.
Non-polarized pads (pads that can be placed in either chest position versus position specific pads) should be placed on the victim’s chest. The AED audibly instructs the rescuer to do this. The non-polarized pads have proven to be a time saving feature in what is already a race against the clock. RescueCoach™ is a feature that audibly guides the rescuer in performing CPR on the SCA victim. If an AED is not available when the victim is discovered, CPR should be performed by anyone that is at the scene, hopefully by someone who has been CPR trained. Also, before and after a shock is delivered it is strongly advised to continue CPR to give the victim the best possible outcome. Once the AED is available and in use, the RescueCoach™ technology will take over. This technology comes to life once the AED is opened and guides the rescuer through calm, firm, audible instructions – think of a musician’s tool called the Metronome and visualize the back and forth rhythm and sound it provides. This is part of the CPR technology that aids the rescuer in pacing chest compressions that are specific to the victim on the ground. The AED also employs a text screen that will give trained professionals necessary information. STAR (Self-Tracking Active Response) Biphasic Waveform Technology works hand in hand with RescueCoach™ to determine if the victim requires a shock from the AED, and if so, it calculates the appropriate voltage of therapy the victim needs. If an escalated voltage is required, that is delivered, and if a second shock is needed, the AED voice prompts direct the rescuer.
Event Documentation is available in the AED’s internal memory providing up to 1 hour of ECG data. This data is easily downloaded through the RescueLink® software.
