Medical Oversight:

Entities or individuals acquiring an AED must enter into an agreement with a licensed physician who will oversee all aspects of the AED program, including training, maintenance, and usage protocols.

Training:

While Arizona law does not mandate specific training requirements for AED users, it is recommended that potential users complete a state-approved course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED use to ensure effective response during emergencies.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Notification:

Any trained responder who uses an AED during a sudden cardiac arrest emergency is required to alert EMS by calling 911 as soon as possible.

Maintenance Program:

Owners of AEDs must ensure that the devices are properly maintained and tested on a regular basis in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines to guarantee their readiness during emergencies.

Post-Use Reporting:
